Van Deadlocks Essex

A van deadlock uses a key to manually lock & unlock the additional lock we install on your vehicle. This means you can NEVER lock your keys inside the vehicle. This is the most common type of lock thats installed for tradesman. Van deadlocks are one of the best security upgrades we recommend. All our deadlocks are Thatcham approved and offer excellent resistance against lock picking and lock cylinder drilling attacks.

All the pins within these cylinders are anti drill meaning a drill bit will keep snapping in the event of a drilling attack. All the brackets and fixings are designed with your exact vehicle in mind meaning a nice sleek installation is carried out. All our kits have been spec’ed with your exact vehicle in mind meaning you have an additional locking system which will be good for the life of the vehicle.

Van Slam Locks Essex

A vehicle slam lock is normally used on delivery vans where the driver is repeatedly opening and closing the vehicle. For example most DPD drivers use slam locks and this is a part of their self employeed contract with DPD to keep there parcels secure. Please be aware these locks instantly lock EVERY time the door is closed / you would need to make sure you don’t lock your keys inside. Locking your keys inside is one of the main risks with slam locks. Slam locks are also less secure than deadlocks due to the slam locks using the original handle release cable rather than using an additional lock case being mounted in the door. Slam locks offer very little in the way of additional protection against harsh attacks.

Van Rep Locks Essex / Drivers door lock replacement

Many van door cylinders are attacked to gain entry to the load area. Very common of Ford vehicles. Most of our Rep locks are bolted in from behind the door skin. This adds a excellent resistance against attack due to the thieves not being able to twist the lock in the same way as they do with the original. We also add a bezel to many of these rep locks meaning you can’t twist the lock cylinder due to the bezel simply spinning / you wouldn’t be able to grip the cylinder. Rep locks are only used in the event of the original remote key not being able to unlock the doors. You then use the rep lock key to open the door in an emergency. A rep lock is by far the most recommended upgrade on a Ford Transit MK8 or Ford Transit Custom van.

Van locks shouldn’t be your only form of protection and as such we always advise customers to get an alarm installed. An alarm makes a thieves job alot more harder due to the thieves not wanting to make any noise. It is more than likely you hear a customer say their vehicle has been broken into with no noise at all.
